There continues to be a bit of a frenzy with many folks about the climate changing.
Let me start off by saying it is utter nonsense.
Hold it. Before you leave, let’s look at some age old directives. And let’s be reasonable… the biggest change in climate is concocted in the back rooms of alarmists who pay the bought off MSM to advertise their false narrative.
It almost sounds like a New (bigger?) Wave in place of a former primarily false narrative (C-vid is real; but much of its narrative was made up) from the last two and a half years. That one is losing steam, so out comes the next.
Notice just a simple colour change… how the typically green coloured weather maps have now been coloured bright orange and red while reporting normal temperatures that have been seen in our daily seasonal cycles for decades.
And we’re bombarded with heat wave warnings now, when as kids we used to just hit the local lake or beach on hot summer days. And guess what… we survived… without the warnings! Heat waves are Not-so-New! Nothing new under the sun!
I’m not saying it’s not hot out there this summer. This past week in Ontario has been a cooker. But really it’s already mid July and it’s been our first hot week. Ontario summers have had heat spikes and cool downs for all my 5 decades of living!
Those age old directives
There is a God in control of our climate and He directs ALL of our weather. I have been saying this over my last 7 other Climate Series posts. Sure humans can impact the climate minimally and periodically, but there is no scientific evidence of long term substantial change to the climate. God determined well in advance that mankind would “fill the earth and subdue it”. It was one of His first commands to mankind to actually go ahead and do.
If He gave the command so many 1000’s of years ago, He didn’t give it with a blind hope for the future having no idea what would be required of the earth and its climate. No, He created the earth with plentiful resources and with a climate that would maintain life on earth and sustain human activity on earth for as long as He decides. The earth will not be short any of its days. And humans are welcome to extract and use earth’s resources, but not abuse them, nor abuse this earth on which we live.
Stewardship comes to mind. And there’s always room to evaluate our stewardship of the earth. But never at the cost of lives and livelihoods of people. The earth does not trump people. What we see today is a false “must care for the earth” being valued more than the lives of people.
God Only
God is the only one who causes the upheavals in our weather systems, which many claim as climate change. And often it’s because He wants to awaken people who have forsaken Him.
In the time of a wicked king Ahab, a man of God, Elijah, prayed and it did not rain for 3.5 years. Then after that time of punishment for wicked leadership, he prayed regarding the situation, and it rained once again. He wanted people to turn to Him in repentance.
Look what Psalm 107:33-36 says, also relating to wickedness:
“He (God) turned rivers into a desert, flowing springs into thirsty ground,
and fruitful land into a salt waste, because of the wickedness of those who lived there.
He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs;
there he brought the hungry to live, and they founded a city where they could settle.”
When God does cause calamities that come about through weather, including through the heat, He does it for various reasons. We may not know all of them, but we do know some.
Why?
What He has revealed is that through amazing feats of weather He wants us to stand in awe of His power and be humbled that He is not a God to be mocked, but One to be glorified. He has shown that wickedness may bring about weather disasters. Not that all weather calamities have a simple cause and effect equation, but He has used major weather catastrophes to turn people to Him.
And God also uses weather to show He is in control and governs our climate by the amazing weather patterns that have been relatively stable for centuries. Through weather patterns of cold and heat, summer and winter, springtime and harvest, rain and sun, all people have existence on this planet.
That is encouraging for us in a world full of false fanatics who think they can affect change to the climate. And their plans on how they think they can do this are already costing us dearly and will cost us much more. To what end? Are they gods? Who do they think they might supposedly “save the planet” for?
These fanatics are playing way out of their league. I hope they stop, or more calamity is in store. Best to leave things of God with God. He knows best, because He designed climate and weather from the beginning and will maintain control of it to the end.
