If your daughter cheated on her husband and then after a little while just wanted to carry on living with him as if nothing had happened, would you be ok with that?
Probably not.
So please don’t be surprised if I’m still raising a few concerns on how the church acted towards Christ during, and now after, covid.
We cheated on Him. We allowed for another “authority” to dictate what holy worship looked like when that authority is reserved for Christ alone.
No, we can’t “just move on”.
We must consider our wayward ways and repent. We owe a deep and sincere apology to our Lord and need to recommit to following and serving Him — and Him alone — as Lord of His church.
And if we think we did nothing wrong, well, that may be indicative of yet a deeper problem.
We best ask for forgiveness on that too.
“Therefore, we reject all human inventions and laws introduced into the worship of God which bind and compel the consciences in any way.”
