It’s been said that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link.
Imagine one weak link in your military platoon… that could bring about disaster.
The military itself, today, has a weak link, maybe its weakest link: the federal government, particularly the prime minister. And disaster will come of it.
In another one of his spiritual-sounding, religiosity-pandering policy changes, he, as Canada’s aspiring self-imposed “deity” is declaring prayer to Almighty God be eliminated.
Yes, as if he knows best.
Oh he is crafty… slyly repackaging it:
// Prayer is being removed or reduced to “spiritual reflections” with no mention of God allowed. //
There. That way we can include everybody. Even the atheist.
Anything but Sovereign God. And anything but genuine prayer to Him.
And it’s amazing really how the government acknowledges God through these actions but refuses to submit to Him.
The decades-old line of thinking… There is a God. We must submit to him. But we refuse to, so let’s remove Him as if he doesn’t exist.
God has been removed from most things the government touches.
But listen…
When we take the Almighty Triune God out of prayer, or these newly named “spiritual reflections” we are left with nothing but vain pagan utterances belonging to the kingdom of darkness.
We slip and slide into darker descent as a country.
Prayer is the most powerful resource available to any military leader. Through it we appeal to God Almighty upon whom every victory ultimately depends — on or off the field. It is the channel through which insight and wisdom flow. And prayer is of greatest comfort to the suffering and dying, the afflicted and the faint of heart.
And Canada removed it.
History has plenty of examples where prayer influenced outcomes.
As Charles Spurgeon wrote, “Prayer moves the arm that moves the world.”
So now our military, as thinly stretched as it might be, has lost its greatest strength. Dependence on God.
Sad. Because small or insignificant never mattered to God. And now we have a military, like our country, that falls out of rank with King Jesus.
Vulnerable. Disastrous.
So Christian, pray for the military, its chaplains, and its people in service. They need it more than ever. And pray too, that our government would cease to raise its fist against God Almighty, and bend the knee instead… now, while there’s still time. Pray for this country that it would turn and repent.
And chaplains, stand up and be bold. And continue to pray in the Name of God Almighty who is the King of kings and Lord of lords.
Maybe the greatest battle is right here on home turf.
