“Consider the birds.”

The robin. It has arrived back in Ontario for a weeks now.
In those few weeks it has endured frigid temps, frost, rain, green grass, brown grass, sunshine, snow, hail, ice pellets, cloud cover, fog, and wind.
It cares not.
It goes out on mission every morning…. not wondering if it will find what it needs…. but knowing it needs to get out there despite the changing, often challenging conditions. Upon getting out there, it will find what it needs. Because Jesus said His Father has got this.
Provision does not fall into your lap, there is some action involved.
“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” Matthew 6:26
….much more valuable than they. You. Me.
(So why worry – that’s the next verse.) If God provides for the birds, will He abandon us?
The robin is persistent and resilient.
It goes out regardless.
And it sings while doing it!
It does what it does by God’s design and provision.
Next time you see or hear a robin, may it encourage you and remind you.
To be resilient. Coupled with being faithful, getting out there regardless, and trusting God will provide.
And a little singing along the way wouldn’t hurt either.
